On Friday, we traveled to Medford Lakes for a visit to Neeta Elementary . . .

Not far from the school, we noticed this canoe wrapped around a tree. This happened during a flood a couple of years ago, and the canoe remains there to this day:

Neeta Elementary was a lot of fun. Thanks to Mrs. Caldwell for all her help!

Back at the hotel, Lily Munster kicked back for a little while . . .

This weekend, we had a couple days off, so we traveled to nearby Haddonfield. I'd been told about a really cool dinosaur sculpture downtown, so Mrs. Chillers, Lily Munster, and I set out to find it:

There is an interesting story behind this dinosaur: it was discovered in 1858 by William Parker Foulke. Until that time, it was the most complete dinosaur skeleton unearthed anywhere. The Haadrosaurus foulkii live about 80 million years ago in the late Cretaceous era. It fed on plants and traveled in herds. The Hadrosaurus foulkii became the official dinosaur of New Jersey in 1991.

We spent the rest of the weekend checking out bookstores, doing a little shopping, things like that. I bought a bunch of books (of course!) so I've got lots of reading material.

The weather here is pretty good. Chilly (around 40 degrees) and we had a light dusting of snow this morning. I hear that there's around ten or twelve inches of snow at our home in northern Michigan! The storm is tracking east, toward us, but it's supposed to go farther to the north.

We travel to Millville, New Jersey in the morning for a couple of school visits. More updates soon!

Best wishes, happy reading, and . . . WRITE ON!
