Okay . . . this is going to be a mish-mash, hodge-podge, discombobulated update. Lots of pictures, lots going on. And I'm still getting tons of requests for more pictures of Lily Munster and Scooby-Boo, so there are a lot of our two dogs.

Speaking of which . . .

Here's Lily Munster. She's *stolen* a box of nails from my workbench. Don't worry . . . she doesn't eat them. She just carries around the box and wags her tail proudly . . .

This is cool. The pileated woodpecker is the largest woodpecker in North America. We see them on occasion; however, last week, I saw a pair of them in a tree near our house . . . and I had my camera!

Last week, my wife stopped by 'Wags to Whiskers,' a pet store in Gaylord. You'll never guess who works behind the counter:

Our friend Carmen Scharffe gets a big kiss from a dog at Wags to Whiskers . . .

After the visit to Wags to Whiskers, it was off to the AuSable Valley Animal Shelter to do some volunteer work. Here are some of the adorable little guys and gals available for adoption. Call (989) 348-4117 if you're interested . . .

Back at home, Lily Munster and Scooby-Boo are having their own party . . .

Last Friday, AuSable Valley Animal Shelter had a special birthday party for one of their special dogs: Callie. Happy birthday, Callie!

Callie's birthday 'cake'. . .

Our friends at Meijer in Saginaw gave us a gift basket (we had a super-succesful expo over the weekend) and Lily Munster and Scooby-Boo were given their own special treats . . .

The sun rise over our home on Topinabee Island. Note that you can see the mainland in the distance . . .

Lily Munster and her humongous bone . . .

Scooby-Boo is napping . . .

This morning, we headed for Traverse City. First stop: the studios of WTCM radio, for an interview with my good friend, Ron Jolly. Ron and I worked together, years ago . . .

After our interview, we traveled a short distance to Norris Elementary. It's hard to believe it's been over six years since we first visited Norris!

And that, as they say, is a wrap. We're up early Wednesday, headed for Marlette, Michigan. Later in the day we head to Rochester Hills.

And you thought YOU had all the fun!

Best wishes, happy reading, and . . . WRITE ON!
