Yesterday afternoon, I headed to Camp Ocqueoc to take a poke around and get a feel for the area. I can tell you this much: those of you attending Author Quest this week are in for a real treat. There is something very magical about this place. It's very peaceful and quiet. There is wildlife all over the place. Just walking the grounds and the woods seems to bring out imagination and creativity. You will soon find that Camp Ocqueoc is a very special place.

Heres Ocqueoc Lake . . .

A leopard frog is almost invisible in the grass . . .

You can't see this guy real well, but it's a smallmouth bass, probably 16 to 18 inches long, at the mouth of the Ocqueoc river where it flows from Ocqueoc Lake. Not a gigantic fish, but good-sized for a smallmouth bass!

Looking downstream . . .

A view from Ocqueoc Lake from the mouth of the river . . .

Not far from camp is a weir system along he Ocqueoc River. You'll drive over this bridge on your way to camp . . .

We're already in the stages of planning next year's camp! Early registration begins soon. All the details will be available soon on the main page.

Thanks for checking in!
