Cyber Super Store

Having trouble browsing the store?
Read on and you just might find the answers!

Q. I'm having trouble getting into the Cyber Store from the American Chillers web page, what's the problem?

A. Two things could be happening. One: Your internet security settings are set to prevent 'store' browsing. What this means, basically, is that based on your individual security settings in your browser, you are prevented from viewing pages in a secure environment. Although the initial pages of the Cyber Store and the subsequent search pages are not in a secure environment, the registration and checkout areas are. Based on your security settings, you may not be able to view these pages. Each brand of internet browser is different, so it is best to see your HELP file for security settings in your browser.

Two: There is a broken link to the Cyber Store. Sometimes this happens when our host site is taking on maintenance. Try back in a few minutes and all should be well.

Q: What kind of browser should I use? (What is a 'browser'?)

A: First off, a browser is anything that helps you to explore the internet. There are quite a few companies that have brought out browsers, but for the most part there are (4) to speak of that are most used. 1-Internet Explorer by Microsoft ... 2-Netscape ... 3-AOL ... 4. MSN Explorer.

Internet Explorer is the most widely used browser, with AOL coming in a close second. How they browse is quite different, though. Internet Explorer is a 'wide open' browser, with no real-set homepage where all of your needs and cares are situated. Sure, there is the MSN homepage, but with Internet Explorer your 'homepage' is whatever you want it to be. The versions that work best for the Cyber Super Store are I.E. 5.0 and newer (6.0 Internet Explorer Service Pack 1 is available). Using anything lower than 5.0 may not or will not work at the Cyber Store.

Netscape is a popular browser that is much like Internet Explorer. It too, can be 'molded' into what you want it to do for you. The versions that work best at the Cyber Super Store are Netscape 4.7 or higher. As with I.E., anything lower than that may or may not work.

AOL and MSN Explorer roll out new browsers nearly every year. What AOL and MSN Explorer do is wrap your internet experience into a big bundle, putting everything that you could possibly want, based on your preferences, onto one linking page. Unfortunately, we have had a few issues with both browsers... most of which is far-reaching security issues. Each have had intermittent troubles reaching, viewing, or processing a transaction at the Cyber Super Store site. This could be based on your security settings or by the browsers programming. Because each one has a new browser almost annually, glitches in programming is the norm. Older versions of AOL have had intermittent problems.

What do we recommend? Internet Explorer 5.0 or higher. This usually provides you the best chance to get through your shopping experience with little hassle. We do strongly suggest that you use the latest version (6.0 Service Pack 1) for the best in security settings. And as always, keep your browser and your operating system up to date, a good firewall and use a virus scanning program to prevent bad people from getting into your system.

Q. Should I be worried about hackers at your site?!

A. No. The American Chillers Cyber Super Store employs Skipjack Financial Services to do our credit card processing. Skipjack uses 128 kb encryption to prevent hackers from getting into your stuff. You can read about Skipjack's security here.

Q. I get to the Checkout screen, click confirm and nothing happens? What happened?

A. Browser, again. Make sure you are using a proper browser and that it is up to date with all of it's security patches. Because of the high security, if your browser is not up to date, it is more than likely your transaction will not be processed.

Q. I click on the Enter Cyber Store Here and nothing happened.

A. That link is set to open a new browser window. If you do not see a new window in your task bar (that long grey bar at the bottom of your screen) then check your browser updates again.

Q. I can't place my order! I click on 'Add to Cart' and I get an error message.

A. Our site now and then undergoes a maintenance cleanup and reshuffling which is handled by our host. Sometimes that puts things a little out of whack. Please email us at the address below and we will contact our host immediately. Then, try back within an hour and all should be back to normal.
